Who are we, then?

In recent years, a natural offshoot of our nationally respected criminal defence work has become a specialist motoring department. We’ve been doing motoring cases for 30 years.

Because motoring offence proceedings in the magistrates or crown court can seem very stressful, we believe in showing sensitivity and also explaining things as clearly as possible so that people feel less intimidated by the legal system and more in control of what’s going on.

Motoring law cases can be technical, and require specialist knowledge, but also an intense and focused approach. Our lawyers are not paid to stand on the sidelines, but to get stuck in and fight for our clients. This may mean reducing or avoiding a ban, or fighting the conviction altogether.

What do we think of success rates, bad-mouthing other law firms, and other gimmicks?

We don’t feed potential clients with misleading percentages of ‘success rates’. The Law Society (overseeing solicitors) has banned misleading advertising and the Bar Council (overseeing barristers) has banned advertising success rates. If a firm guarantees results, make unrealistic promises, or makes negative comments about its competitors, we regard this as unethical. We have more faith in your ability as a client to figure out the difference between a good firm and a bad one, and we don’t try to tell you we are great, and everyone else is rubbish.

We do an expert job, and we’ve been doing motoring cases for decades.

Our head was recently named Lawyer of the Week by The Times Newspaper for his work in the case of Hookway, which affected everyone in the UK on police bail in connection with criminal and motoring allegations.
